If you are interested in reviews, here is what’s happening on goodreads.
I remember when I started writing. I had found JAFF at fanfiction.net and was hooked. I loved reading how different authors portrayed the characters that I love to imagine so much. But sometimes I was angry. The Darcy I know wouldn’t do that! In Regency times, they would not kiss at the church! Did these authors know nothing! I was actually in the shower when I decided I should write my own. So I did. And I didn’t tell anyone. I was writing and posting to fanfiction.net. Some people reviewed and were positive, a few were not. I’ll never forget one that said my writing was “worse than a high school book report”. Ouch! But I kept going because they were positive more than negative. Then someone said I should publish. I laughed. No way are my books good enough for that, I thought. Then more people said I should publish. Then one person offered to edit my books for me so that I could publish. We talked a bit, and came to an agreement. I read how to publish on amazon and nook, and I did. I was scared. Scared my book would not do well. Scared people would hate it. Scared my family and friends would find out and laugh at me for thinking I could write. That did not happen. My books did better than I expected. Some hated my book, but others loved it. And all my friends thought my achievement was amazing. So here I am, 8 books in, still trying to convince myself that I am worthy of the title Author. Here are my books:
- Honor, Pride and Prejudice – Published July 2012 and updated November 2013 – In Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth is angry at Mr. Darcy for his supposed treatment of Mr. Wickham, and he in turn feels that he cannot confide in her because of his pride in his family. This story starts at the beginning of Ch. 18 of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, when the Bennets arrive at the Netherfield ball on November 26. What if Lady Catherine were to interfere and prevent Mr. Darcy making such a poor proposal? Could her outrage stem his arrogance, and would Elizabeth be sensible enough to keep her wits about her when attacked by Lady Catherine and defended by Mr. Darcy? - A Better Courtship – Published May 2014 – In Jane Austen’s pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have a spectacular disagreement in the form of Mr. Darcy’s first botched proposal. He was confident of his success, and he showed it. This did not delight Elizabeth. Far from it, instead she lashed out accusations she believed at the time right to his face. He left dejected and depressed.
Yes, I know they get together eventually, but I decided that our characters would have been too smart for this folly. This story begins while Elizabeth is in Kent with Mrs. Collins and shows a better courtship for the couple we have all grown to love and care about. Gone are the harsh words. Instead, Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam are thrown together in situations that require them to discuss their differences. As a result, they both grow to be better people. People who are worthy of a love that will last a lifetime. This story was intended to be light and pleasing and is almost angst-free. I hope you find it as such. - One Kiss – Published June 2016 – How much could one kiss change the circumstances of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice? Mr. Darcy, upset about Elizabeth’s rejection of his proposal, goes to the parsonage to deliver his famous letter. Not quite feeling himself, and feeling very melancholy, he steals one small kiss. While it did not last long, it was observed. Mr. Collins is not known for keeping secrets. Follow our dear couple as they are forced to become engaged, fall in love, and finally marry after various trials seem destined to keep them apart.

Sparks fly, but neither is sure of the other’s feelings. Then news of Lydia separates our beloved characters again. What if the letters from Jane had been delayed just an hour or so? This story begins the morning Jane’s letters arrive in Lambton, except Mr. Darcy comes upon Elizabeth before she has received them. Instead of being distressed, Elizabeth is eager for his attention and completely unaware of Lydia’s folly. The path of their relationship follows a completely different course due to the hour’s delay.

- Close Quarters – Published July 2024 – What if Elizabeth moved into Rosings before the disastrous proposal?
